Ministries

Board of Deacons

To provide  the spiritual ministry of the church and with administering church ordinances. Visit the membership, especially the troubled, sick and bereaved. Be responsible for recommending staff of the church office and candidates for deacons of the church. Serve on

various committees and boards.

Board of Trustees

To serve as custodian of all the properties belonging to Zion Baptist Church. Work jointly with the Deacons and Board of Finance.

Board of Finance

To study and make analysis of the giving pattern of the church. Work closely with the Official Board members for the improvement of the financial operations of the church.

Program Committee

To coordinate the entire church program of activities and develop a church calendar based on requests made by the ministries.

Pulpit Aide Society

To support the agenda of the pastor, aid and lift the pastor and his wife, the church and its membership in the community.

Health and Wellness Ministry

To assist the sick and shut-in, and to meet the needs of others who are in need of wellness information.

Personnel Committee



To establish employment qualifications based on information supplied by the organization requesting it for positions of the church.

Youth Ministry



Lead in planning children/youth to have a personal knowledge and acceptance of Jesus Christ. This should be in conjunction with the pastor, parents and other youth.

Missionary Ministry Association

To help the church develop the missionary spirit of giving and serving  God.

Music Ministry

To provide appropriate music for regular worship services and for special occasions.

Andrew J. White Adult Ministry

To promote Christian attitudes, to enhance religious awareness of members, families and communities.

Joint Usher Board

To serve God first and provide for the comfort of the members and guests who enter the worship service.

Repast Ministry

To assist members of the bereaved families of Zion by providing human resources and facilities to serve a repast upon the family’s request.

Giles B. Evans Memorial Ministry

To foster goodwill and cooperation among its members and members of Zion Baptist church.

Singles Ministry

To provide opportunities for education regarding God’s plan for a single person’s life and to serve God through Christian love.
